JSR Engineering develops electrical design documents for residential and light commercial projects across Ontario. Power distribution, lighting and equipment requirements are coordinated with the building layout and the other design disciplines.
Building power & equipment coordination
A renovation can introduce equipment and change the electrical demands of a space. We coordinate proposed loads and equipment locations with the electrical design, considering distribution arrangements and the space needed for electrical equipment. Mechanical equipment selections are considered alongside their power requirements.
Interior, exterior & site lighting
Lighting design brings together fixture locations, the purpose of the space and the surrounding site. Our work includes building lighting layouts, exterior lighting and site photometric plans. Site lighting is coordinated with parking, pedestrian routes, landscaping and the relevant architectural or civil background.
Site plan & utility coordination
Electrical site plans identify proposed services, equipment and distribution routes. Coordination with civil works helps address conflicts between underground services and site features. Site plan approval documents and detailed building permit drawings serve different purposes, and each package is developed for its intended submission stage.

Electrical planning for renovations and new building work
Electrical design connects the proposed building use with power distribution, equipment connections and lighting. Renovations can introduce new loads or change the arrangement of existing circuits and distribution. Coordinating these changes with mechanical equipment and the architectural layout helps define where electrical rooms, panels and service routes need space. Site lighting and exterior distribution also need to be considered within the site design.
